Our Prohibited Content Policy governs the SMS / MMS content that can be sent through our network, software, and the tools that we provide you (the “Website” or the “Service”). Push notifications, geofencing, and email are not affected by this policy.
Prohibited content categories:
1) High-risk financial services
Examples: Payday loans, Short term high-interest loans, New loan soliciting, Third-party loans, Student loans, Cryptocurrency, Stocks and investing platforms
Note: "Third-party" refers to loans originating from any party other than the one servicing the loan. First-party loan content is acceptable if not promotional.
2) Third-party lead generation services and marketing
Examples: Companies, NGOs, or political campaigns that buy, sell, or share consumer information, Affiliate lending,
3) Affiliate marketing, Deceptive marketing
Note: All third-party use cases are strictly forbidden, and consent must be obtained directly from end-users. Businesses mentioning sharing or selling consumer data in their terms of service or privacy policy are noncompliant.
4) Debt collection or forgiveness
Examples: Third-party debt collection, Debt consolidation, Debt reduction, Debt relief, Credit/debt repair
Note: "Third-party" refers to debts owed to parties other than the messaging sender. A debt collection business with direct consent may send related content. Debt consolidation, reduction, and credit repair programs are prohibited, even with first-party consent.
5) "Get rich quick" schemes
Examples: Deceptive work-from-home programs, Risk investment opportunities, Pyramid schemes, Mystery Shopping, Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)
Note: Different from compliant opt-in employment outreach, messages from brokerages, or investment news alerts.
6) Illegal substances/articles
Examples: Cannabis, CBD, Kratom, Paraphernalia products, Vape/E-cigs, Fireworks
Note: Businesses related to cannabis, CBD, Kratom, or drug paraphernalia products are prohibited from SMS/MMS messaging, regardless of content or legality.
7) Prescription drugs
Examples: Drugs requiring a prescription, Offers for drugs not sold over-the-counter
Note: Forbidden offers apply even if the business is a licensed professional.
8) Gambling
Examples: Casino apps, Gambling websites, Sweepstakes, 50/50 Raffles, Contests, Betting/Sports picks
Note: Gambling traffic is prohibited on all number types. Special review is needed for certain cases.
9) "S.H.A.F.T." use cases and electronic smoking devices
Examples: Sex, Hate, Alcohol, Firearms, Tobacco, Vape/E-ciggs
Note: Alcohol traffic may be allowed with age gating in some regions. Firearms, Tobacco, Vape, and E-cigarettes are generally not allowed regardless of age gating. Age gating policies may vary by region.
Changes To This Prohibited SMS/MMS Content Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page.
We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the “effective date” at the top of this page.
